How to Access and manage your Samsung Cloud Storage?

Did you know free storage in Samsung Cloud is available with Galaxy phones and tablets? That means when you add a Samsung account on your device, you can sync and back up data like photos, apps, contacts, and more using Samsung Cloud. And if you need additional storage space, you can purchase more at any time. You can also access Samsung Cloud online to check out everything you’ve synced, backed up and stored.

Note: Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version. Samsung Cloud may not be available depending on your country or carrier.

Access the Cloud:

You can access Samsung Cloud directly on your Galaxy phone and tablet, and even using a computer, too!

Note: If you are accessing your Samsung Cloud from a web browser you will be guided through setting up and using 2-step verification for additional security.

Phone or Tablet Access:

 

To access Samsung Cloud on your phone, navigate to and open Settings. Tap Accounts and backup, and then tap Samsung Cloud. To exit, just press the Home key on your phone.

You can also add a shortcut icon to your Apps screen by tapping the More options (the three vertical dots) icon in the top right corner, then tap Settings. Next, tap the switch next to Show Samsung Cloud icon.

Computer Access:

Note: You can access your Cloud data on a phone using web browser. It is recommended to use the Chrome browser on a computer when accessing Samsung Cloud.

To access Samsung Cloud on your computer, open your desired web browser, and then go to support.samsungcloud.com. Click Sign in, enter your Samsung account information, and then click SIGN IN again. If you’re unsure of your account info, click Find ID or Reset password after you click Sign in. To sign out, just hover over your name in the upper right corner of the page, and then click Sign out.

You can also bookmark the URL in your browser by clicking the Bookmark (start) icon in the address bar.

View Cloud Usage:

If you aren’t sure how much storage you’re using in Samsung Cloud, you can check on your phone, tablet, or a computer.

Phone or tablet view:

Note: You will receive a notification on your phone or tablet before you hit your storage limit.

From Settings, tap Accounts and backup, and then tap Samsung Cloud. Tap the Cloud usage circle under your name to see your available storage space, and a breakdown of your usage by categories for Device backups, Gallery, Other synced data, and Samsung Cloud Drive.

Computer view:

Note: You can view your Cloud usage, even on a phone, using web browser. It is recommended to use the Chrome browser on a computer to when accessing Samsung Cloud.

Once you sign into support.samsungcloud.com from your web browser, click Cloud usage to see your available storage space, and view your storage capacity.

Manage Cloud storage:

After you access Samsung Cloud, check out the dashboard to see information about all the data stored in your Samsung Cloud account. Scroll through the different categories, and select one to view more details about items you’ve synced or backed up from your phone or tablet.

Note: You can also manage your Cloud storage from a web browser. It is recommended to use the Chrome browser on a computer when accessing Samsung Cloud. All data stored in Samsung Cloud will be deleted if it has not been used for more than 12 months. This includes data stored in its respective category, such as contacts, calendar, photos, and more. You will not be able to recover that specific data; however, Samsung will provide an advanced notice prior to deletion. (To avoid deletion, sync your data.)

**Cloud:

You can see your available storage space, and a breakdown of your storage capacity. You can also view your current plans on this page along with other storage options like purchasing new plan. (See “View your Cloud usage” section.)

**Gallery:

To view, download, or delete what photos and videos are saved on the Cloud using your phone or tablet, navigate back to the main menu for Samsung Cloud. Select Gallery, and then select the arrow next to Recently added. Select All to see the images that are stored on both your phone and the Cloud. Or, select Cloud only to see which files are only stored on Samsung Cloud.

The Auto sync feature for the Gallery app on your phone or tablet lets you automatically upload photos and videos right to Samsung Cloud. You can then view, download, or delete these files on your computer and with a non-Samsung phone when you access Samsung Cloud through Google Chrome.

**Other synced data:

To see the apps and other data synced with your account, select Other Synced Data. You cannot view or download specific files here. You will only be able to view a summary of which apps have been synced. If you want to view or retrieve your app data, just open the actual app on your phone or tablet.

Note: Calendar, Contacts, Gallery, Keyboard, Memo, Reminders, Samsung Internet, Samsung Notes, Samsung Pass, Scrapbook, and S Notes are the only apps that can be synced to Samsung Cloud.

**Samsung Cloud Drive:

This feature is just like Google Drive, except it’s run by Samsung. While you can only upload things from your phone or tablet, you can manage your files when you access Samsung Cloud. Just select Samsung Cloud Driver, select the desired files, and then select the Download icon. Or, select Delete to remove the files from the drive. If you’re using a phone or tablet, you can also have an option to Share the file.

Note: If you would like to download files from the cloud drive onto a non-Samsung phone or tablet, access Samsung Cloud using the Chrome browser.

**Device Backups:

When viewing Samsung Cloud on your phone or tablet through the Settings, you will see a Backup and restore category that allows you to manage your backup data.

If you’re accessing the Cloud on a computer, select Device Backups to view a list of devices you have backed up, as well as their last backup times. If you want to delete backup data for a specific device, select the device’s name, and then select a category. Click the Delete icon, and then click Delete.

Note: Phone, Messages, Contacts, Calendar, Clock, Settings, Bixby Home, Apps, Documents, Voice Recorder, and Music data are backed up to Samsung Cloud.

**My Knox and Secure Folder: Data from your Secure Folder can be synced to the cloud too. To see the number of backed up Secure Folders, select My Knox and Secure Folder, and then enter your account’s password. The backup size and last backup time for each device will also be displayed.

Note: My Knox and Secure Folder cannot be accessed through the Samsung Cloud settings on a phone or tablet. But you can access your data using the Secure Folder directly on the phone or tablet. If you’re using a non-Samsung phone or tablet, you can access Samsung Cloud using the Chrome browser.

Cloud storage plans:

You can upgrade your Samsung Cloud storage plan at any time or change your payment method. However, you can only complete the purchase from a phone or tablet. Purchases cannot be made from a computer or web browser.

Note: Some carriers do not support premium storage plans with Samsung Cloud. You can access Cloud storage using a web browser, even on a phone. It is recommended to access the cloud on a computer using through the Chrome browser.

View storage plans:

With the Basic Plan, you can save many different files on Samsung Cloud at no extra cost. You can also expand your storage with a Premium storage plan.

To find the different plans, navigate to Settings, and then tap Accounts and backup. Tap Samsung Cloud, and then tap Storage plan. Swipe left or right to see the different plans.

Here are the three storage subscription plans you can choose from:

Basic plan:

Anyone with a compatible Samsung phone or tablet gets the basic plan for no extra charge. Unlimited storage is provided for pre-loaded Samsung apps, such as Contacts and Calendar.

50GB: $0.99 per month; get more storage space by upgrading your account.

200GB: $2.99 per month; our biggest storage plan, so there’s plenty of room for all your stuff.

Once you determine the best subscription plan for you and you’re ready to purchase it, just tap Upgrade. Then, tap i agree to accept the Terms and Conditions, and tap NEXT. Tap Buy, select a payment method (for example, Samsung Pay or Credit card), and then tap BUY again.

Note: If you do not see an option to purchase more storage, contact Samsung Support for help.
